I have been on a quest for optimal health, energy, and mental clarity. I also desire longevity, as I want to become a centurion and live a quality life to one hundred.
This has been by far my biggest challenge in losing weight. Back in 1995 I went to the doctor because I was sweating all the time. Prior to this I was at a healthy weight for me.
The doctor ran some tests and diagnosed that I had a Hyper-Active Thyroid and that was what was making me sweat so profusely. His solution was to radiate my thyroid. So we scheduled the procedure and I had my thyroid radiated.
After the procedure I had some additional tests done. Then I went back for my follow up appointment with the doctor where he advised me that I would be fat the rest of my life. Thanks doc, I wish you would have mentioned that before the procedure so I could have gotten another opinion.
Eventually I needed to be put on a low dose of Levothyroxine and that helped a lot with losing and keeping weight off.
This all happened before the internet is what it is today. Now when a doctor tells my wife or I that we need a drug we do our own research and try to find an alternative first.
I have found that with a Whole Food Diet keeping my weight under control is easier than ever.
Prediabetes
In around 2020 I was diagnosed as being prediabetic and my doctor wanted to prescribe a medication to lower my gluscose level. My immediate response was "what is a natural alternative?" It seems doctors want ot write prescriptions and support Big Pharma.
Not me because I research the side effects of a lot of medications and find they are worse than the problem. Most medications treat the symptom and not the underlying problem.
I bought a glucose test meter and began testing my blood. Then I started eliminating foods and monitored what spiked blood sugar levels and what didn't. I found most sugar spikes were from processed foods, like cookies, chips, and other snacks.
I have found that by eating a Whole Food Diet I keep my blood glucose levels under control without medication.
Dementia and Alzheimer's
My grandmother on my dad's side developed dementia and alzheimer's. It was horrible watching her mind erode. My dad at the end of his life was developing dementia and it wasn't pretty either.
I did some research on alzheimer's and found that some research points to sugar as a big contributer to this disease. That made sense to me because my grandma and dad both loved ice cream. My dad was an addict, going to Dairy Queen sometimes twice a day for a Reeses Pieces Blizzard.
In my own experience I have found that after Christmas binging on all the treats that go with the holidays I suffer from brain fog and cloudy thinking. I find that eliminating sugar from my diet gives me mental clarity.
I have found that by being on a Whole Food Diet I don't walk into a room and ask myself, "why did I come in here?" I have found that eliminating sugar from my diet gives me mental clarity like I never have had before.
A Whole Food Diet emphasizes consuming foods in their natural, minimally processed state, focusing on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, and lean proteins, while limiting or avoiding heavily processed foods and additives.

If you think about it most items on the shelfs in the middle of the store are processed. If you read the ingredient labels you'll find ingredients that you can't even pronouce their names.
Try the Whole Food Diet for 30 days and discover how amazing you feel. Experience high energy and mental clarity for yourself.
